– The African American Mayors Association (AAMA) is sending thoughts and prayers to the families of the victims following today’s shooting in Atlanta, Georgia. Member-mayors from across the country are offering their support to Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens during this tragic time following yet another senseless and devastating act of violence.

“My thoughts and prayers, though they are not enough, are with the victims, their families, and the city of Atlanta during this trying time. I hope that this shooter will be brought to justice and that Congress will come together to finally take the necessary action against guns and gun violence,” said AAMA President and Mount Vernon, N.J. Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard. “Gun violence affects all of our cities, everyday, and we cannot afford to wait a second longer to act.”
